1st Getaway & 1st Bottle...

We had the chance to slip away for the weekend for Raymond to work in Ely.  Katelyn & I hung out in the hotel room pretty much the whole time but we were still happy to be close to Ray and lets face it, hotels are fun!  I took myself and Katelyn on a tour of Ely and it only lasted about 15 minutes and there was very little to see but oh well we enjoyed ourselves!  On our way there our drive was extended due to horrible fog and on the way home our drive was severely extended due to a blizzard.  It took us nearly 6 hours to go from Ely to Wendover (it should have taken 2 hours) so we decided to get a room in Wendover for the night.  We are so lucky to have such a good baby, even though she was stuck in a car seat and unable to eat for a long period of time she was happy as could be! It was kind of nice to just be able to relax and enjoy one anothers company.  We had dinner at the buffet downstairs which was delicious.  A random waitress wanted to hold our beautiful baby.  We felt like horrible parents carrying our child through the casino and smothering her with a blanket to decrease her exposure to smoke!  She is 6 weeks old and has been in 2 casinos...sweet?!?

Katelyn is so smiley and happy! I love that we are now able to make her smile! She is so close to laughing, she kind of gives a happy grunt when she is smiling and excited! She loves to listen to and watch her rattles, she loves the ceiling fans and lights.  She is always watching things around her, she is very curious!  She is already a tease!  She would be bright eyed and smiley until I would try to take a picture then she would hurry and close her eyes!  We played that game for 15 minutes!  She is so funny! She loves to watch our facial expressions and she will even raise her brow when I raise mine in an "overly excited" face!

On our way home from Wendover the weather was much nicer.  We stopped at my Grandma Stapel's house and Katelyn was able to meet her. It took us all day to get home with errands/drive time but when we did it was SO nice to be home!  That night we gave Katelyn her first bottle (we realize we should have tried much sooner) and she screamed and screamed!  We switched bottles and she did much better and ate a whopping 3.5 ounces!  Ray was pretty excited to be able to give her the bottle and share that time with her.  I sat in the kitchen and cried.  It's true.  I really am not looking forward to leaving my baby!  It was a good weekend, I love being with these 2!
