I looked out my window and what did I see? BALD FACED HORNETS AND A HIVE WRAPPED AROUND THE TREE! If you look right out our bedroom window this is our wonderful finding, surprisingly this is the first time we have noticed this hive!! We obviously are not very observative! We looked up the type of insect they are and turns out they are a type of Yellow Jacket and are extremely aggressive if bothered...so these are our friends until November-ish when they all abandon ship!
On a side note, we were digging around in our backyard and we found an apricot tree (so called by neighbor) but it looks & smells more like a plum tree but is yellow like apricots and the final conclusion is it is a white plum tree. Suppose we need to keep attacking the vine in the backyard cause we have found this 8-9' tree and several smaller ones hidden underneath it!
