Rockport Lake

Last weekend we headed up to Rockport Lake with the Stapel Family (aka my mothers family). We had a great weekend although it was a not so pleasant start! Within the first 5 minutes of being their Raymond and I were soaking wet, head to toe...I had to ring out my hair. The torrential downpour came with severe winds which caused the half set up tent to take on a life of its on, enveloping Nicole & her umbrella within it which turned into the tent stuck to the umbrella, the umbrella stuck to Nicole's hair, Nicole completely discombobulated while Raymond yells at her to get out of the tent. I told you, it wasn't pleasant. Finally we got our tent man-handled but not until our tent had a tear in the rain flap, it was raining inside our tent, my umbrella was broken, we were both soaked, and we were frustrated with one another. Yay, go weekend camping! But on a happier note after raining all through Friday night, sleeping in the back of the jeep, raining all morning while trying to cook breakfast on a camp stove, mud everywhere, and still more rain...the sun did finally come out and we had a great weekend!

These little gals with us are amazing, and wonderful posers! Miss Halli Grace...
Madison Marie...
Jordan, Madison, Lexi...I asked Lexi to smile for an individual shot and she informed me "I already DID"!!
My uncle Chris...ignoring me...and my Grandmother
Mother Winn, Lexi, Lisa, Cody...
This is how we played "hide & seek" for hours, if I can't see you...You can't see me!
Jodi & Halli...
If only I could video our entire trip, my family is some of the funniest people I have ever met. These girls {Stacie, Maggie, Tess, Mindy} are {crazy} singing the Lion King at the top of their lungs with full actions...the blurry photo just adds to the energy of all their movements...I am certain every family needs a Mindy--she can do any impression, song, dance, joke...anything! She is amazing!
Even though it rained 1/2 the trip, I still got fried...my nose has peeled 4X & is still red!
We had this huge bag of candy we were sick of so I took it and all these fine cousins devoured it within 20 minutes...and to think it has sat at our house for months!
And of course, it was gorgeous up there.
It was a super fun weekend, we don't get to spend much time with the Stapel's because of life but they are so much fun! With the Winn's & Whipple's we ARE the aunts & uncles so it was kinda fun to be considered a KID again which means you just enjoy the fun. We went boating, played cards, made necklaces, played Koob, and my favorite just sat around and laughed!! My aunts & uncles are some of the craziest people I have ever met, they are the type of people that get kicked out of camps by camp rangers, get arrested for troubling others, asked to leave Walmart for disturbing other customers...oh yes they have done it all yet always manage to talk their way out of it! I am so lucky to have such a young family that is very active & crazy! Sure makes life super fun!!

**Side note---I have aunts & uncles that are YOUNGER than my bro & sis in-laws!! In fact my oldest bro-in-law is only 10 years younger than my MOM & DAD! Crazy huh!
