We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at The Whipple home. We had the traditional baked potato bar which was fabulous, we had a nativity by the kids which was comical, and Katelyn got to meet all of her Whipple family. There were TONS of people and I can't imagine what kinds of sicknesses they had circulating so we were extra careful to keep Katelyn covered but she did get to cuddle with several aunts and uncles, grandma (grandpa was sick so we steered clear) and there were SO many little ones that wanted to snuggle her but we just couldn't risk her getting sick so we promised them that someday soon they will get to play with her!
We divided Christmas Eve festivities into 2 nights this year so it was very nice with not so much going on. Katelyn got her first pair of Christmas Eve jammies from Grandma and Grandpa. She wasn't the best at unwrapping them but Daddy gave her a bit of help. They were pretty darn cute! She also got her traditional quilt from Grandma & Grandpa that they give to each new grandchild born. Tiffany made it and it is adorable.
It was a very fun night, it was fun to get outside of the house for a minute! Katelyn is such a good baby, she hardly ever cries (when she does we let her cry a minute longer just to hear it..i love it!), she only fusses if she is hungry or needs to poop but even then it is generally just grunts and stretches and sighs. It was so incredibly loud this night that she was so upset. She could hardly sleep, eat or think (which none of us could) but I felt awful for her. Her and I ended up standing in a back room trying to calm down a bit. It gave everyone the impression that she is incredibly fussy but she really isn't! She was grateful to get back to a nice quiet home and get some rest!
