I had a bad day at work. Like really bad. I heard a frantic voice asking for help. Voyaged to the front office to see a small trickle of water coming from the attic to the floor below. I hurried and grabbed a mop bucket placed it under the little drip. Someone ran to turn of the water main. Then all hell broke loose. The attic access door fell open, the light fixtures blew out of the ceiling, the ceiling began crumbling and thousands of gallons of frigid dirty insulation water began pouring into our front office. While I was standing underneath with my pathetic little mop bucket. Within 8 minutes we had over a 1000 square feet with 6-7 inches of water. Yeah. The next few hours were a blur of sirens, police, fire department, evacuation of our patients (we evacuated all patients in 12 minutes and it was a non-emergent evacuation just for patient comfort, go ALPINE!!), lots of water, lots of cleaning, lots of wet paper. I was drenched head to toe within the first 30 seconds of the ordeal and remained sopping wet for the next 4 hours before Raymond could bring me new dry clothes. I think I nearly died of frost bite. And you think you had a bad day at work.
Thankfully I have an amazing husband. I came home to a freshly scrubbed bathtub with steaming hot water (I have never taken a bath at our house because I am scared of our tub even though we do clean it regularly), Christmas music playing softly and candles lighting the bathroom. Yes, he is taken. Thanks dear, you made my day much better.
