We had the Stapel family annual Day Before Night Before Christmas Party as usual. I love this party. All of my mom's brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and my grandma are all there. We have delicious food (this year was breakfast foods, the casserole I made with great direction from Jessica was GREAT!), talk and laugh lots, have an always entertaining white elephant exchange (this year Jess did "Shave with me Barbie", my mom did a redbox which in fact was only a red box and I did an eye-pad (it was a feminine pad with a wiggly eye glued to it!))!
Super exciting thing was Briele started walking multiple steps at a time!! She was so excited but I think the rest of us were more excited as we kept making her do it over and over again! She has refused to even try to walk for the longest time so this was a BIG move for her!
Santa (Raymond) came to visit. Madison is starting to catch on. Our conversation went as follows-- Madi: Where is Raymond? Me: In the bathroom Madi: Why? Me: He doesn't feel good. Madi: What did you feed him? Me: Nothing. Madi: Hmmmm. You sure? Me: Yeah. Madi: Ok.
Then as Steve & Jodi drove home Madison explained to them that it was not the REAL Santa just Santa's helper because 1) He didn't smell like Santa 2) He didn't know the Christmas song the fish was singing 3) His beard was too skinny 4) He all together was too skinny 5) His voice didn't sound right. Yes, she put a lot of thought into it. So Raymond may not be the real Santa but he is a pretty good helper!
We wore cool mustaches, smashed up a pinata, sang Christmas carols and just had a great night!! I love my family!!
