Christmas eve was wonderful. We enjoy Christmas Eve with the Whipple's each year. We enjoy a baked potato bar. We have lots of goodies. The kids are crazy excited. We always have a production of the Christmas story performed by the nieces and nephews. This year it was even produced by Sarah, age 9, who was horrified that the adults hadn't put it together. She did fantastic. The boys were really worried that we didn't have gold, frankincense and myrrh. Therefore we had cheetos, ranch dip and broccoli. Yes, our toddler Jesus is eating the gold :)
The kids do a random gift exchange with the left & right story. The adults all bring a gift and do a white elephant exchange. We played my families version this year of being able to steal twice, it was super fun and the game lasted forever because everyone just kept stealing everything. Grandma & Grandpa gave all the kids their Christmas pajamas. Every year we give everyone a Christmas book, this year we gave them "The Candle in the Window". Bear & Sheralee surprised everyone with the awesome gift of pictures. Bear is the family photographer and has thousands upon thousands upon thousands of pictures. They spent so much of their time compiling disks for everyone with every picture he has of each family or person and then all of the family pictures we have done. For us this included all of our wedding pictures and clips from our engagement party, wedding dinner, wedding, reception, bridals...everything!! I love it, best gift ever! They also included a very touching story with it, really they did awesome. Rodger and Camille surprised everyone with an awesome picture. The Whipple's have had a rough year with all sorts of trauma and stress and struggles so they gave everyone a picture that says "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain." They had Bear place it on pictures they had picked out and then framed them. I love the one we got...it is a Lego girl and boy dancing in the rain! It is awesome!
